Sentinel Equipment Requirements

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Current Insurance Certificate with $1,000,000 Commercial Auto Liability and Policy, with dates displayed.
  • Current Certifications for all states to be traveled
  • Two-way radio – 1/2 mile range minimum
  • Handheld 2-way radio (for use outside of vehicle)
  • Front-mounted Height Pole, Non-Destructive/Non-Conductive in its construction
    • Pole must have positive lock/fastening device to prevent slippage
    • Pole must have a solid, colored tip and cannot have a Bristle/Brush style tip
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Required at All Wind Sites
    • Type 2 Orange reflective vest
    • Hard hat
    • Steel toe safety boots
    • Gloves, safety glasses and pants (No shorts sandels, or cut offs)
  • Vehicle is either a one-half ton pickup or automobile of not less than 2,000 lbs
  • Pilot Company Identification Signs visible from 50 feet
  • (2) Amber Flashing/Rotating lights or Beacon/Bar with 360 degree visibility
  • (2) Vehicle-mounted Side Mirrors
  • (3) 12″ Red Flags on 18″ Staff
  • 5′ x 10″ “Oversize Load” sign mounted in proper location for states to be traveled
  • 7′ x 18″ Spare “Oversize Load” sign
  • 18″ or 24″ Stop/Slow Paddle
  • 5 lb B/C Fire Extinguisher
  • Complete First Aid Kit
  • (9) Bi-directional Reflective Triangles
  • (8) Red-burning 30 minute Flares
  • (3) Orange Cones 18″ or larger
  • Flashlight w/2 “D” Cell batteries (or more)
  • 9″ Orange/Red cone to fit above flashlight (for Traffic Direction)
  • Spare Tire, Jack, & Lug Wrench
